
Kevin Jones graduated from Blackpool and the Fylde college having Achieved a first class honours degree in Scientific and Natural History Illustration. He has a passion for art, science and wildlife and uses his artwork as a way of conveying this emotion. He specialises in bird art and likes to capture his subject in it's natural environment creating compositions that are exciting and evocative.
Kevin illustrated 'The best birdwatching sites in North Wales' in 2007 for Buckingham Press and has exhibited work at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He also exhibited his work at the D and AD show at Earls Court, London.
In September 2008 Kevin held a stand at the Bakewell festival of bird art in Derbyshire where he displayed original artwork, prints and greetings cards. All of which can be purchased by contacting him, please see the contact page for details.
From September-November 2009 a selection of his work was on show at Rennies art gallery in Bold Street, Liverpool and were also exhibited at CHET annual exhibition in Little Crosby, Liverpool.
AWARDS
In July 2009 Kevin was awarding wildlife artist of the year by Wildscape magazine for his painting 'Wading Avocet', which can be viewed on the home page. His image 'Ruffs at sunset' was awarded category winner in BBC Wildlife magazines wildlife artist of the year and this image will be shown at the Marwell art exhibition at Marwell zoo in August 2009 and published in the August issue.
